CITAC is pleased to announce the latest update of “Oil Refining in Sub-Saharan Africa”, a unique and in-depth report examining Africa’s downstream oil sector.

Part I of the 132-page report offers an otherwise unavailable overview of the continent’s refineries, including an insight into the challenges currently being faced by the sector.

Part II – which forms the bulk of the study - provides key ownership, technical, operational and economic data for each of Sub-Saharan Africa’s 19 operating refineries, as well as oil product demand breakdowns for the countries in which these refineries are located. The broader significance of this data is explained with the help of detailed country-by-country commentary, charts and maps.

Part III is concerned with both the immediate and longer-term outlook for the supply of petroleum products in Sub-Saharan Africa, including the obstacles frequently encountered when planning major new capacity additions and the ingredients commonly associated with successful projects.
