CITAC successfully completed its inaugural training course in Ghana between the 11th and 15th May. The CITAC course on "International Oil Trading" was held at Dennis House in Tema and was attended by 40 participants hailing from 8 different nations!

The content of the course covered crude oil and petroleum products pricing and trading, refining, shipping, contract issues and price arbitrage. The course was very interactive with enthusiastic contributions from the participants. It is seen as a 'foundation' course leading into CITAC's "Advanced Trading Techniques" course.

The next advanced course will take place in London between the 15th and 19th June and a number of participants from the foundation course have already expressed an interest in attending. The "International Oil Trading" is to be repeated in Tema in Autumn 09.
