Reports:
African Energy Market Reports (Quarterly with monthly updates)
CITAC produces a quarterly African Energy Market Report providing crucial insights into significant developments in the energy markets in Sub–Saharan Africa. The report covers crude oil price developments, import parity pricing for oil products, freight developments and tenders, as well as special features and regional news. This report is sent automatically to our retainer customers but is also available by subscription. Clients for this report include all the major international oil companies, most of the African refineries, major financial institutions and a number of African and international companies involved in the African market.
Annual Review of Downstream Oil Sector in Sub-Saharan Africa
The Annual Review of Downstream Oil Sector in Sub-Saharan Africa provides data on supply and demand, refinery utilisation, major projects, trade patterns for crude and products, port details, changes to retail price structures, a refining sector overview, and details on specialist product markets (LPG and Bitumen).
The Annual Report is updated each autumn to include import and export data, refinery utilisation, and retail price changes from the previous year. CITAC uses its relationships and extensive network of local contacts to collect the raw data. Figures are then reconciled and interpreted to produce comprehensive supply and demand balances and trade flow data using CITAC’s experience and regional expertise.
A Study of Oil Refining in Sub-Saharan Africa
CITAC's Oil Refining in Sub-Saharan Africa study is one of the most comprehensive reports ever prepared on African refineries.
Updated annually, the report begins with an introduction listing all refineries currently operating in Africa, stating their capacity and whether they are simple (i.e. topping reforming) or complex (i.e. with cracking facilities). It also lists the African refineries that have closed over the past 40 years.
This report provides detailed information on each of the operating refineries in the region including history, technical configuration, ownership, local markets, economics and future plans.
These are available on a subscription basis. Please contact us for prices and subscription details.
